Competitive Landscape Overview

Store key details about your direct and indirect competitors for easy reference as you develop new strategies, provide context to investors, or onboard new team members.

Many collaborators will be interested in staying up-to-date about competitors, including Sales, Marketing, Product and Design. Agencies and freelancers will also benefit from seeing who you're competing against as a way to better understand what you do and how to help differentiate you from competitors.

What defines a “competitor”

For companies with several paying customers, a competitor is most often defined as a business that makes it on your prospects’ shortlist along with your company. Typically, this means 3-5 companies that offer products with comparable feature sets and pricing. Knowing who these competitors

For early stage companies, a competitor is more of a theoretical target to beat.

Add competitors as you discover them, and review them twice a year to keep them current.

Add a Competitor for the first time

  1. Navigate to Brand Foundation > ‘Competitive Landscape’ section.
  2. Click on “Edit Competitors”.
  3. Once on the page, fill in the fields as desired.
  4. When done editing, click “Save” at the top right of the page.
